Answers to common questions about your membership, billing, and account. Still stuck? Email us and a real person will help.
How does the free trial work?
BassIQ membership starts with a 7-day free trial, then costs $14.99/month until you cancel. A payment method is required to start: a card through Stripe on the web, or your Apple Account in the iPhone app.
- During the trial you get Today: the daily bite window, fishing plan, and hourly weather.
- Your first $14.99 charge happens when the 7 days end (for App Store subscriptions, within the 24 hours before), unless you cancel first. The exact date is shown before you confirm and in Account.
- The 5-day Forecast and the live wind map unlock after your first successful payment.
- The free trial is available once per person. If you have had one before, your membership starts without a trial.
How do I cancel?
Cancel with the service that bills you. Cancel before your trial ends (at least 24 hours before it ends for App Store subscriptions) and you will not be charged. After you cancel, you keep access until the end of your trial or the month you already paid for.
If you subscribed on the website
- Sign in at getbassiq.com/app.
- Open Account and tap Manage subscription. This opens our secure Stripe customer portal.
- Choose Cancel subscription and confirm.
If you subscribed in the iPhone app
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
- Tap your name at the top (Apple Account), then Subscriptions.
- Tap BassIQ, then Cancel Subscription.
App Store subscriptions must be canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period to avoid the next charge. Deleting the app does not cancel your subscription.
I subscribed on iPhone. Can I use the website?
Yes. Sign in at getbassiq.com/app with the same account you use in the iPhone app (the same email, or Sign in with Apple). Your membership works in both places. Billing stays with Apple, so manage or cancel it in iPhone Settings.
I subscribed on the web. Can I use the iPhone app?
Yes. Open the iPhone app and sign in with the same account you use on the website. Your membership unlocks automatically, so there is no need to subscribe again in the app. Billing stays with Stripe, so manage or cancel it on the website in Account > Manage subscription.
How do I restore purchases on iPhone?
If you subscribed in the iPhone app and BassIQ does not show your membership, open BassIQ, go to Account, and tap Restore purchases. Make sure your iPhone is signed in to the same Apple Account you used to subscribe, and that you are signed in to the same BassIQ account. If your membership still does not appear, email us.
How do I delete my account?
- If you subscribed in the iPhone app, cancel first in iPhone Settings > Apple Account > Subscriptions. Deleting your BassIQ account does not stop Apple from billing you.
- In BassIQ, open Account and tap Delete account, on the web or in the iPhone app.
Deleting your account cancels any web subscription billed through Stripe and permanently removes your account, saved lakes, and preferences. It cannot be undone. You can also email us from the address on your account and we will delete it for you. Our Privacy Policy explains what we keep.
Where does the data come from?
- Weather: Apple Weather, with WeatherAPI as a backup.
- Water temperature: the nearest U.S. Geological Survey gauge with a recent reading, where one is available.
- Lake shorelines and search: OpenStreetMap.
- Moon phase: calculated for the date.
- Fishing plans: generated by AI from these conditions.
Conditions data can be delayed or wrong, and plans are suggestions, not guarantees. Always check official forecasts and use your own judgment on the water.
I have a billing problem.
- Update your card (web): open Account > Manage subscription and update your payment method in the Stripe portal.
- Payment issue in Account: your last payment did not go through. Update your payment method, and paid features return once the payment succeeds.
- Unexpected charge or refund (web): email us from your account email with the date and amount, and we will look into it.
- App Store charges and refunds: Apple handles billing for iPhone subscriptions. Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- Charged twice: you may have subscribed on both the web and iPhone. Cancel the one you do not want with the service that bills it, and email us if you need help.
